Recent spy images have fueled rumors that a new Chevrolet Corvette variant is on the way and today another piece of the puzzle has been revealed. It was announced this morning that the Corvette’s Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky will be suspending factory tours for 18 months, starting this June. Speculation is strong that this 18 month period will allow the Corvette plant to be retooled for either a high performance ZR1 version of the current Corvette generation or the long-rumored mid-engine Corvette for the next generation. There is still time for Corvette fans to visit the factory before this lengthy shutdown – the doors will close on June 16th, so start planning your trip now. No official word has come out regarding any new Corvette models, but stay tuned to this blog and you’ll find out as soon as we do!
